On the 1st day of your 12 days Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will start your safari with pick up from the airport by your guide who will welcome you and drive you to your hotel in Moshi where you will spend the night ahead of your hike the next day. Dinner and overnight stay at Babylon lodge while on your Tanzania Safari.
Day 2; Kilimanjaro hike
You will engage in a hike on Mount Kilimanjaro which is the tallest mountain in Africa. You will hike to the Mandala hut with your packed lunches and after this adventure, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Babylon lodge.
Day 3; drive to Ngorongoro crater
On the 3rd day of your 12 days Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, your guide will meet you ahead of you will start your safari in the Ngorongoro conservation area where you will enjoy more wildlife viewing experiences. You will descend into the Ngorongoro crater where you will search for wildlife species like lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, hyenas, jackals, hippos, zebras, herds of wildebeests.
You will also see attractions such as Lake Magadi where you will see a variety of birds such as flamingos as well as other wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s tree inn.
Day 4; drive to Serengeti national park
After breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Serengeti national park. You will have lunch at your lodge in the national park and later you will engage in an afternoon game drive around Serengeti national park as you search for wildebeests, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, hippos among others.
You will search for different wildlife species during your game drive such as the big 5 and many others during your safari. After your game drive, you will be driven you to your lodge for your dinner and overnight at Osinon camps and lodges
Day 5; hot air balloon and afternoon game drive
You will wake up early at your lodge and you will be driven to the launch site where you will meet the pilot and have a short briefing. You will also watch as the balloons are being inflated and take off by dawn.
You will enjoy views of the savannah plains of Serengeti national park. After landing, you will enjoy breakfast and after this meet up with your guide. You will also enjoy game viewing around the national park and look out for wildlife species like elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, zebras, giraffes among others. Your dinner and overnight will be at Osinon camps and lodges.
Day 6; Serengeti to Lake Manyara national park
On the 6th day of your 12 days Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, after enjoying your breakfast, you will proceed to Lake Manyara national park where you will search for wildlife species such as the tree climbing lions. You will be driven to your lodge for check in and also for your lunch.
You will engage in a canopy walk along the treetop walkway and enjoy the views around the national park. After the canopy walk, you will return to your lodge where you will spend the night at Twiga lodge.
Day 7; drive to Arusha
You will have an early breakfast at your lodge before checking out of the lodge. After checking out, you will drive back to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at your hotel where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing at Runako lodge.
Day 8; Maasai experience
You will also have a Maasai experience at Olpopongi where you will interact with the Maasai people and get to know more about their culture. You will also enjoy a traditional lunch during this experience after which you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Runako lodge.
Day 9; fly to Zanzibar and stone town tour
After having breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival at the airport in Zanzibar, you will be welcomed and driven to your hotel for check in.
You will also have an optional tour around stone town for an experience of the culture and also visit different sites around Stone town. Dinner and overnight at Flame tree cottages.
Day 10; safari blue excursion
You will enjoy the best boat tour on the island is which is a truly amazing experience sailing in the beautiful traditional Dhows. You will enjoy a sailing trip, enjoy delicious buffet and drinks, fresh tropical fruits and snacks, snorkeling and also visit Menai Bay. This activity starts in Fumba village. After the experience, you will be driven back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Flame tree cottages.
Day 11; dolphin tour and Jozani forest tour
On the 11th day of your 12 days Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have breakfast at your hotel ahead of your dolphin tour experience where you will get on a local boat ahead of an experience of seeing the dolphins. You will also enjoy swimming with the dolphins before returning to your hotel for lunch.
You will also enjoy a tour to the Jozani forest which is home to the rare red colobus monkeys and you will engage in a nature walk in the mangroves. After this experience you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Flame tree cottages.
Day 12; departure
On the last day of your safari you will have breakfast and be driven to the airport for your flight which will bring the safari to an end.
